On behalf of past and present Santos management, I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to Rodney's family and friends.

Rodney was a well-respected leader of our finance team in the 1990s. He made a significant impact and contribution during this time with Santos.

Our condolences and thoughts are with his family, friends and former colleagues at this challenging time.

When I look at these photos I simply can't imagine the world without Rod in it. He was always so full of life and energy, he always took an interest in others and had an amazing ability to connect with people from 2 years of age to 102 (and everyone in between) . I saw this first hand as he was a wonderful Grandfather to our four children. No matter how tired or busy he was, he always found time to play, read, draw or simply stir them and they loved him dearly for it. Similarly he enjoyed a fantastic relationship with my own Grandfather Jim who was well into his nineties, but once again Rod took the time to get to know him, and connect on a level that made you think they were lifelong friends.
Visiting Adelaide will not be the same without Rod being there at the end of a long road-trip offering to help with the luggage with one hand and a beer in the other. He was always so generous and thoughtful and would genuinely do anything for anyone. His love and dedication to Mignon and his family was unmatched, and he was very welcoming to me when I first met him almost 20 years ago.
I will miss our long chats about politics and global affairs, I'll miss our all too rare games of golf, our football banter and his bright shirts with coordinated socks. I'll miss his practical jokes, and occasionally warped humor, his business insight, his ability to simply disappear and the reappear with all of the daily essentials, but most of all I'll miss his friendship and all he has meant to our family.
Rest in Peace Dear Rod
