To a true Gentleman that nothing was ever too much. All the times i had a document to be raced to the city and you would fit it into your already full schedule. Such a lovely soul. Your deep voice which should have been in radio. Always proud words when you spoke of your children. May you be resting in peace and out of pain. Very sad to hear of your passing.

uncle bill really was the sweetest man. i wasn’t able to spend a lot of time with him in the last couple of years but the time we did share together really made up for it, we got along so well as he is so kindhearted and funny and i like to think we shared those qualities and we really bounced off eachother whenever we talked. i often smile and think about when him and kerri anne came to visit us and took us to a drive through safari and zoo. it was one of the best trips we had as a family, so pure and fun. he will be dearly missed but i’m glad that we are left with fond memories such as this one. <3

Bill, you have been so much part of our family for over 12 years, having known you for quite a few years before then.. our lives have been so much richer being with you. Your quiet nature, your understanding, your patience, your value on life, your deep knowledge of so many topics, trains included, just to have a conversation with you was always enjoyable. Your gentleman nature, your contagious smile, and above all, your Christian faith , you so readily shared to all. Your special care and love you gave to our daughter, even in your own health problems , thank you Bill. You both were so much caring and love between the two of you, very special relationship. Your humbleness, your laughter, your prayerfulness, even right to the end, was very special. The times we have seen you struggling with your health, hardly a complaint, you would say....it is what it is , so just deal with it. The poem, Footprints in the sand, was quite special to you, knowing the reality of the message it gave, that is how you viewed life. Thank you Bill, for sharing so much of your life and beliefs to so many. Struggling and pain are no longer a battlefield for you. Rest In Peace Bill. God. Bless you richly xxxx

Bill Carter has worked with me since 1996 when I transferred to Parramatta Police Area Command. He was a great guy, always smiling and there was nothing he would not do. In fact the word 'NO' was not in his vocabulary. He always did what ever any one asked him to do and did it with a smile.

Judy Craig, Graeme Gosling and myself enjoyed many lunches at Pyrmont/Gladesville with Bill driving us there. Not forgetting the 'Gladesville chicken' which we were lucky enough to share with Bill only a few weeks ago. Teresa, Sally, Judy & myself were happy to have spent some time with you and it was great to see your face when Judy showed you the many pics of early days.

Bill was very much loved by all staff/officers within the NSW Police Force who knew him. He will always be remembered as one of the most easy going, lovable, kind and gentle teddy bear. He had a heart of gold and always willing to help and assist others.

On behalf of all the staff at Parramatta Police Area Command we raise a toast to you dear Bill with fond memories of our time together.

May you rest in peace dear friend!!
